Hi folks,

Anyone know which GPO controls the ability to update the Windows login screen via Spotlight?

As far as I can tell we've not disabled anything for staff PCs, yet the login screens no longer change.

I've spotted one that relates to asking users about Spotlight images, but that isn't disabled anyway.

Thanks

It behaves very oddly here, Windows 10 Pro, the default is the beach viewed through the cave photo, but they sometimes change, not sure why they do or why they reset.

We tried configuring a lock screen, but it didn't work, and there's hundreds of reports of the same issue.

On our staff PCs it used to quite happily update the login screen (apparently it's a different thing than the lock screen), but the last few weeks it has stopped. Not sure if that's coincided with updating to 1709.

Digging into this again, and it seems Spotlight was removed from the Enterprise and Education versions from 1703 onwards. The implication is it wasn't very "professional", could contain advertising etc.

There's a Windows Store app called "Dynamic Theme" which gives similar/same functionality.
