Don't forget to put your clocks back!

:)

If someone can successfully explain to my kids that they need to stay in bed an extra hour then you have my eternal gratitude!

Clearly not teenagers then. It is a mission to get our son up every day.

Apparently the Grand kids are staying here tonight

so - a 5 year old and a 1 year old have to be told NOT to wake us up for an extra hour

any suggestions welcome

Too late for this year, but have you considered emigration?

Result - 5 Year old was carefully instructed on the concept and mechanics of the clocks going back

At 8:22 (old time) she ran into our room (whoever came up with the term 'patter of tiny feet' didn't have kids) and shook me saying

'pops pops my clock says 8'

which is at least better than usual

and anyway - turned out the 1 year old was already awake and standing up in his cot so he would have started crying to be let out soon

I think the concept of emigration has merits

Your definition of easy and mine differ a bit.

Spring forward and fall back.

No argument there. I use the same mnemonic and posted this one for its humour value.

Reminder: Clocks go back tonight!

It might be the last time they do! :)

www.wired.co.uk/article/uk-clock-change-2018-daylight-savings-time

The clocks go back on Sunday, 28 October, bringing an end to British Summertime and ushering in longer nights – as well as an extra hour of sleep. However, if EU plans are accepted, the bi-annual confusion of daylight saving times will soon be a thing of the past.

In September, the European Commission published a proposal to end seasonal time changes across the continent. If it becomes law, it means clock-tweaking will be stopped as soon as 2019. Clocks would go forward again on the last Sunday in March, and countries would have the option to turn them back in October. After that, there’d be no more changes.

The move has a great deal of support across Europe. A public consultation found 84 per cent of citizens across all 28 member states were in favour of putting an end to bi-annual time change. The consultation had the highest number of responses ever received in any European Commission public consultation: 4.6 million people.

Now I have to remember which version of the Vulcan Nerve grip I need to sort out the oven clock in the morning!

and at some point I will have to work out how to sneak a minute in the sister-in-law's kitchen alone and reset hers

not thatthey ever notice - but I can;t sit with my back to their oven EVERY time
