When using RIS to launch ghost 7.5, it gets as far as 'loading' ghost but just sticks there and I cannot figure out why.

The PC dos, network card and mouse driver etc is picked up OK, just when it gets to the point where ghost should load it freezes.

Has anybody got any ideas?

Thanks.

admtek network card? PXE boot version 083?

I'm out of ideas then. Does it stop after the "Loading Ghost" part, before that or after? I asked about the admtek one as I had to update 100 fujitsu machines with broken pxe firmware.

I followed DMcCoy's excellent tutorial for getting PXE/RIS/Ghost-boot working.

However, I use Ghost 7.5 here too and found that the Wizard for creating the boot files did not work.

If you get the trial version of the latest release of Ghost and use the wizard for creating the RIS boot files you should find it works.

You can point the wizard at the v7.5 of ghost.exe, you just need to use the latest wizard to create a boot file that works. Not sure why...but there you go.

Don't install the trial over your current ghost suite install, as you want to keep the version you have, just 'borrowing' the wizard to create working files. Once you've created the boot files you can remove the trial of the newest Ghost as it isn't needed anymore.
