Hi all

Just trying to get to grips with configuring printing with codes from Win10 to our Ricoh printers - main one is a 5504

There seem to be a wide variety of drivers available rater than the obvious - "this is the win 10 one"

including a Universal driver

and a universal V4 driver

as well as the basic win 10 driver

which is confusing me

anyone know about this stuff

any advice - gotchas??? (I have enough gotchas already using the print driver packager!!)

We use the RICOH PCL6 UniversalDriver V4.6 for all our ricoh copiers. Works with windows 10 fine.

Do you know what the difference is to the normal PCL6 driver?

I have beaten the print driver packager NX into submission and produced an application that configure the printer properly - but I'm just wondering if I am using the best driver

thanks

Hi,

The universal driver supports multiple models of copier at once.

We have 2 models here, you print to a central print queue then swipe your card at any copier in school to collect your printing, which means when you print the driver has to produce output that both models understand, without selecting the model you want to print to when printing. If you are just using one model then it shouldnt make a difference to you which one you use.
