Anyone using this software in school.

We use it here but only have a one user licence.

 

It has its own generic file format but you can save as .mpg, .avi etc. Similar to Movie Maker with its project file.

I installed the demo, didn't even work on other admin users, let alone limited users, this was on a non domain workstation. So not really a good start

I've been asked to look into getting this just today. Crazy Talk 5 is the lastest version - did those with issues use this or an earlier version?

I have Crazy Talk 4 (free copy on front t'magazine other month) - it works with full admin rights - I don't lock down my computers so can be no other help -sorry

if you do get it working it is a very good piece of software that gets the kids involved and can be used in a numerous of ways, like simplesi we use it on unlocked pc's

I agree it looks like a nice piece of software, but it's the unlocked PCs that are the concern for me. Have they resolved the licence number issue when installing on multiple machines yet?

I have just found a clip in a teachers account that has been created using crazytalk at 200MB - the clip only lasts for about 30 seconds. Is this the general size people are seeing using the software?

It'll probably have been produced as a non-compressed video file (as thats the default).

 

CrazyTalk can use any codecs installed on a system - just educate your educators to use them

Hi Guys

 

Ok, I've only just seen this post when searching for information on deploying Crazytalk (the lovely individual license jargon they give you! Whoop).

 

We're using CrazyTalk 4.5 in school (and have just purchased the upgrade to version 5) and have it running on 10 machines in the school with no problems, and the machines are well locked down here so it does work on limited accounts, but it does need to be installed using the local administrator account for each machine to get that to work (i.e. a domain admin account won't allow it .. that's from the horses mouth (quite literally in CrazyTalk I suppose! lol).
