[ipad] iOS File share app?

Hey all,

 

I'm after an app that will allow teachers to copy files between the iPad and our shared drives on our Windows network. At the moment we've been using FileExplorer, which works fantastically but can't find a way to push settings out to it.

 

Has anyone got any ideas for File Share apps that will take a configuration payload from MDM? I want to add our public drive to all our iPads, and maybe add each staff member's home drive.

At first run (or I guess via MDM) it asks you whether the device is personal or shared - if shared then it will never store the username/password of the user logging in.

OK so in a situation in a primary school where kids don't have a personal login, they have a class login with redirected folders for desktop and docs. Can Foldr be configured that way ?

 

To ease the setup, can environment variables be used when specifying file paths in the config E.g. PATH/%USERNAME%

 

 

 

Will it work over a VPN?

 

 

Methinks I need to trial it.

Two screenshots attached.

 

We give it an external hostname (https://foldr.southcraven.org) which we use inside and outside school, so that the iPads always have the same URL to access it. (With split DNS so traffic doesn't go outside for internal hosts)

 

Don't see why it won't work over VPN but never tried it.
