Yellow projector image

I have an epson projector which has suddenly (within a couple of days) started to project a very yellow image onto the whiteboard. I have cleaned all the external air filters & checked the bulb is ok too. I've also tweeked the colour settings in the image menu but nothing works.

When is the image yellow? Constantly? When a machine is connected?

 

In my experience I have had a couple of funny colour projectors and most if not all the times it was either a dodgy VGA port or VGA cable.

I'd agree, try a different cable, then remove the plate attached to the wall and have a look for wither touching connections or loose wires

could possible be the VGA lead or laptop, try with a different one of both and/or on a different input type, otherwise sounds like the bulb.

That can be a couple of things.

 

If the colour is completly even over the whole screen, it can be the VGA Cable. Just swap it with another one and you're good to go.

 

If it's patchy, then i hope you have warrenty. Epson EMP-74 Projectors, and i think a few others, get a common fault like this. The lens right next to the prisom inside the projector has become burnt. This isn't fixable really. I've not found anyone that can supply the specific part to repair it, and you need to take the projector apart into a million pieces to get to it.

 

When it happened here, i just got them replaced on Warrenty. When the Warrenty expired, i took one apart and discovered the problem. We just have to replace them now when it happens.

Agreed, the yellow lcd bleeds, the film containing the LC breaks down, and the yellow grows. I just had one here, either that or its been burnt which is a non growing yellow.

 

BTW NO SHOW KILLS PROJECTORS!

 

After promethean taught all the teachers to use no show on a regular basis.

Sudden Yellow? That'll be lack of blue then. Check for bent pins on the VGA lead, or loose connections on the projector. If it still happens with another lead and laptop, it'll probably be a defective input board on the projector.

Go for the VGA pins and cable.
