AMD Ryzen PCs used to heat French homes and businesses

Instead of filling datacentres with racks of servers French company Qarnot are planning on distributing 1,500 AMD Ryzen Pro-based PCs to homes and business in Bordeaux to act as cloud computing/render nodes and heat the buildings for free in winter.

 

For those that don't know, Qarnot is the company that rendered the Despicable Me and Minions movies.

I haven't had my radiator on in my room for about 7 years, my PC has been keeping it warm everyday!

 

Plus points for having Ryzen so my room is Ryzen heated
