junz Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Hi All, I am looking for an inventory system that allows me to keep inventory of Chromebooks given to students. It would also be great if there was a feature built in to manage repairs. Does anyone know of any inventory system that would allow me to do this?
Norphy Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Parago sounds like its fit the bill to me. Lansweeper could as well
MrLudwig Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 We've been looking at https://www.altuity.com/altosites-overview.php. Seems a good system and the quote we had was pretty good compared to the others we'd spoken to.
Fazza Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 We're currently trialing SnipeIT for our SEN laptops and all is going well so far! It's simple, clean and has all the information that we could ever wish for! All going well this will replace our current spreadsheet.
Homer Posted September 18, 2017 Posted September 18, 2017 +1 for Snipe! We use it for everything and most certainly to manage our bookable resources.
lmrogers Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 For those using Snipe IT have you managed to get it working over SSL at all?
Homer Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Yes, I'm running it on nginx and have secured it that way.
lmrogers Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Hi Homer, I have managed to get SSL working and https all setup with it as well now.
KevinB Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 We use Parago. It's not cheap but it's very good. It handles basic inventory plus contracts, PAT testing, an agent-based auto inventory (which if you install as part of your build will automatically add the device to your inventory) and a shedload more. It's also used by our finance and premises depts for their asset tracking and maintenance records too. Disclaimer: I'm nothing to do with Parago, I just think it's a very good system and good value for money.
DCUK6 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Have been a long time user (5-6 years) of School Asset Manager, left my last place before it changed hands. Had a trial of Parago not so long ago and was very impressed. Proper stickers that dont just peel off. Can keep current bar coded asset stickers and scan them instead of having to re sticker everything. Things like audit are pretty much identical using the mobile app.
