victory2015 Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Just received notification that Safe Place Solutions Ltd T/A Star Lesson have commenced liquidation proceedings. Does anyone else use the Lesson Gems? doesnt look like we will be able use it much now? anyone else heard whats going on with this.. bought this for a considerable sum last year!

josephathon Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Signed up to this in March and there were some alarm bells ringing then with our Business Manager as they wanted full payment up front but we were told buy it anyway as "the school needs this"!!!!!

victory2015 Posted October 12, 2017 Author Posted October 12, 2017 Yes i did today,, though to be perfectly honest we are not comfortable pursuing it.. given we have paid enough already im not sure its all above board and not prepared to pay anymore for support.
networkmangler Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 The head teacher asked me to reply and say we are interested Although I have my reservations as well. The email was very vague, if the company is going into liquidation then I would have thought any assets like parts and source code would need to be sold off to claim back any debt (Rather than nabbed by an ex-employee). Unless the ex-employee is looking to purchase them theirself Also if we hand over money for the IOS app to be developed which then gets released onto the app store any school can download it whether they paid towards it's development or not. We would be better off letting everyone else pay for the development and then download the app once its available Unless we have firm guarantees and a strong contract I'm going to suggest not going down this route
