[sims] Missing register alert/reminder teacher

Hi all,

 

I have been asked to setup an automated message when teachers do not complete their registers within 10 minutes of the start of their lessons, it should then alert again every 10 minutes until incomplete. Apparently our new head teacher had this at her old school. I don't recall seeing this as an option in Sims but thought you may have an idea? Maybe it is an addon or they are talking about the manual Missing Register notification using Sims messages?

 

Any help/pointing in right direction would be much appreciated.

If I recall correctly I think it's lesson monitor in SIMS that can do this? Think they need messages pinned to their homepage on SIMS though!

 

Edit: Completely wrong.. if you go to homepage configure there is a missing register notification box which allows a user with correct SIMS perms to send a reminder

This is what I suggested but they seem to think there was an automated system with a pop up?

Netsupport Notify can do this - tho we don't do it automatically, our reception staff use it to harass those who haven't done their registers within the first 10 minutes. It works pretty well

I'm not sure if SIMS InTouch has this functionality. We don't use it so can't comment.

So I finally got to see the Head face to face and it turns out it wasn't a Sims feature, it was in fact something like NetSupport Notify or some other software! Chinese whispers. Also they want it on all teaching staff machines at the start of every lesson, even if they are not teaching! If I do something like that I can guarantee I would be harassed and shouted at by multiple staff, so I am going to sign the message from the headteacher

Sorry to disturb this thread from it's slumber but just been faced with the same question.

 

We run the missing register report from PARS once an hour which emails the teachers a "hey, do your %^%^^** job and fill in your registers" email but in the tradition of Chinese whispers one of our heads of year reckons in their old school SIMS would display a register in red if it was late...? Now thank the $deity$ I'm not a SIMS person nor is it my job but my MIS Officer can't find a setting.

 

Does something like that exist out the box?

I can assure you SIMS does not have the ability to colour code registers or do anything else fancy if they are incomplete/late.
