Edu-IT Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Is it possible to convert BNC to VGA to use a normal monitor?
Edu-IT Posted September 7, 2017 Author Posted September 7, 2017 (edited) Any recommended brands? I was struggling to find ones that don't look like cheap imports. Edit: This? https://www.uk.insight.com/en-gb/productinfo/keyboard-video-and-mouse-cables/0000586693-00000001?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvLb92_WS1gIV7bXtCh0K-gcNEAQYAiABEgL0EPD_BwE Edited September 7, 2017 by Edu-IT
Boredguy Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 I would have thought something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/LiNKFOR-S-Video-Converter-Computer-Monitor-Black/dp/B071774TBV/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1504782290&sr=8-4&keywords=bnc+to+vga+converter is more what your after. It's similar to the BNC to VGA adaptor we had to get when our DVR decided to kill it's VGA output
Chris_ Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 BNC is just a type of connector. It could be used for different types of video signal, network etc.. Might help if you let us know what the piece of equipment is that is outputting over BNC. We use a cable like this to connect a second VGA input to our main hall projector https://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-com-Coax-HD15-Monitor-Cable/dp/B000067SM6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1504783948&sr=8-5
Chris_ Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 It's a secondary CCTV monitor. Something like the product @Boredguy linked to should work
Edu-IT Posted September 7, 2017 Author Posted September 7, 2017 There's no USB port so just powered with the mains?
Chris_ Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 There's no USB port so just powered with the mains? Yeah, a regular 5v USB power supply should be fine.
