Veeam B&R is starting to look expensive!

Almost £2000 a year to license Veeam B&R standard for 4 CPU's (2 hosts).

We license across 4 (2 CPUs each) servers and pay half that! Through Softcat.

that's why I went for altaro although may be not as good as veeam but it works exactly as I want and I have the option to pay for support and upgrades if required.

 

all my backups have restored correctly through extensive testing I trust the product.

 

I am not scrimping on the cost of backups I tested the software over 30 days and it worked without issue what more can you ask for I then purchased the ultimate edition so I can backup as many vm's as I like from one host.

That's a new license though, not a maintenance renewal?

 

2x Annual Maintenance Renewal - Veeam Backup & Replication Standard for Hyper-V £256.50

 

That's a single server (per CPU pricing).

If you're using less than 6 cores you should be licensing the essentials kit, its a lot cheaper, and also getting edu discount on top of that. Is that just the yearly maintenance price you're getting? because standard B&R on the essentials kit was £1370 to buy for 6 sockets, let alone yearly maintenance which is probably cheaper again (i've not got that far yet )

 

Try Phoenix, or as localz says, softcat are also good.

Yes that's for a new license - well, upgrading from 2 CPUs to 4.
