mikeprice Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Hi all One of the TAs has been sorting out a cupboard and has found 2 Valiant Roamers - last used by Moses as far as I can tell Inevitably they were both left switched on but the batteries haven't leaked I was wondering if anyone knows how to get them to connect to a PC - or has any old bits like cables, software etc that is unwanted and we could have, steal, borrow or whatever?? picture to determine vintage is below thanks Mike
FN-GM Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I remember using those 20 years ago in primary school!

GuyJD Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 One of the schools I supported before I worked here had one of them still brand new in the box that I found while performing an ICT inventory, that was about 3 years ago.
steveg Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I'm pretty sure they don't connect to a computer, all the programming is done just using the buttons on top. You can put a pen in the middle if you want draw lines all over the carpet when the kids program it wrong and it goes off the paper :-) Steve
Bedders Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 My niece has one of these Think & Learn Code-a-Pillar Deluxe Gift Set | FGN82 | Fisher-Price and it reminded me of the Romer we used to have in primary school! Thanks for the nostalgia trip! From what I can recall, we only ever used to press the buttons on the top and it would do 'something'. I was only about 8 at the time so forgive my lack of memory.
MatthewL Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 I remember using these at primary school, all the programming was done from the button on top.
