Al_NetSupport Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Hey all, I've been looking at DNA since I've heard great reviews. How is it alongside SCCM? I don't want two overlapping technologies which do similar things. What are the main features of DNA that SCCM doesn't do and would it be possible to get these parts as a separate 'tool' or license? I see safeguarding is one part which SCCM doesn't do. So could you just have a safeguarding tool rather than the whole lot? Thanks, Hi @ReadTheNetwork, just seen your questions posted. Currently, NetSupport DNA is available in its standard guise offering all three key areas of school IT management ( Network Management, Classroom Management and Safeguarding) or we offer a lower cost version without the classroom management. Naturally at the moment we are doing our offer where you can have evertyhing for just £3 a device so we have tried to remove the decision making process as much as we can There is a degree of overlap with SCCM, as with any management tool, so we all discover devices, report on Hardware Inventory and Software installed, but beyond that in terms of Alerting, Internet and app metering (and control), power management, filtering etc, the feature set differs considerably. One thing a side by side checklist woon't also cover is the product usability and how accessible all the information is. We rely on users to download and try and hope they will see the benefits for themselves. Its normally a bit of a clue if a product isn't readily downloadable. Our overview page here will hopefully help with the highlights NetSupport DNA for Schools - Overview of IT Asset Management for Education or if not we also provide loads of video tours which you can access here An introduction to NetSupport DNA - IT Asset Management suite. The videos cover both overviews and more detailed instructional videos. We also offer webinars if you want to see the solution presented and have a chance to discuss specifics about certain features. I hope that helps, and if not, please feel free to PM me and i'll be happy to try and help. We have loads of users on EduGeek, and i am sure some would be happy to give you an independent view if helpful. Al. 1
ReadTheNetwork Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Thanks for the update. It's not for this year unfortunately, but looking in the bright future . But seems an impressive product from what I've seen so far 1
Al_NetSupport Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Thanks for the update. It's not for this year, unfortunately, but looking in the bright future . But seems an impressive product from what I've seen so far My pleasure. We are constantly developing the product, adding new features, taking feedback on board, fixing mistakes when we make them ( not sure I should admit that) and trying to make it cost effective to keep lowering the price, so i hope when you reach a point in the future to review your options, you will bear us in mind. Always encourage anyone on EduGeek to PM me if they need help, hopefully having the key management available on the forums directly reassures members we are very customer focused.
richbrowncardiff Posted July 18, 2017 Author Posted July 18, 2017 wanted to update this thread I want to thank @Al_NetSupport for resolving my issues with DNA and ensuring School was performing better for us. I have decided to Buy Impero for the Classroom management in the end as although the technical issues have been resolved with Netsupport we found that after a trial Impero worked better for us in the classroom so We are now using Both DNA and Impero for their respective jobs and will continue to do so as it works best for us. 1
