TheTraveller Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I know this is probably a hardware issue, but students home drives fail to map on MSI motherboards. we have other boards with the exact same on board Realtek Nic with the same drivers, and they pick up the home drives fine. we've tried swapping the 2 different PC's around to eliminate an issue with the switches or cabling but the MSI boards still fail to map the home drives.
DJ-1701 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 From the title I assume the other drives, such as shared drives are mapping fine? It might be worth looking at mapping the drive in the GPO you use to map other network drives and see if that works.
TheTraveller Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 yeah the other drives map fine, we might have to try that, its annoying for the 20% of the machines that have this board, but it might be the route to go down thanks.
robyholmes Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Is it mapping the home drive letter to a card reader or other storage device? It won't show up in Computer if the storage is empty so easily missed. Check Disk Management. 1
TheTraveller Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 I feel so stupid! completely forgot that these came with card readers. very very stupid....
