kennysarmy Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 We've downloaded the Office 2016 ISO, unzipped and put on the network. When we test installing on our Windows 7 PC's it pops up with this error: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: MsiExec.exe Application Version: 5.0.7601.23593 Application Timestamp: 582346da Fault Module Name: MSID324.tmp Fault Module Version: 14.0.7006.1000 Fault Module Timestamp: 50abc68d Exception Offset: 00008848 Exception Code: c0000417 Exception Data: 00000000 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 2057 Additional Information 1: 013b Additional Information 2: 013b5c7f0d47b6b5f38f4bfdcf58c168 Additional Information 3: 7cc0 Additional Information 4: 7cc049e69814f879a62d50667fe0b909 Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt If we click "CLOSE" - then the PC's appear to upgrade office to 2016 successfully... Should I be worried or does anyone know what the cause of this crash might be?
kennysarmy Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 So with further investigations it appears this crash happens when we try and uninstall Office 2010 off any of our imaged PC's. It happens if we remove using add/remove programs & It happens when we use the script: OffScrub10.vbs ( Author: Microsoft Customer Support Services Copyright © 2009,2010 Microsoft Corporation Script to remove (scrub) Office 2010 products) Still can't get to the bottom of why it crashes though Wondering if some monitoring software might trace what is being called during the install at the point the crash occurs.
