Hi all,

Quick question I cant find an answer to.

Need to do a restart....

Does restarting a print server clear the print queue ???

Got loads of jobs waiting in a Papercut virtual print queue.

????????

Cheers in advance :)

highlight all the jobs and delete, some may still be held so just go into services and restart the spooler.

I want to retain the jobs, not delete them.

Oh ok, misinterpreted the post. Can't you just schedule the restart after hours and email all staff to collect prints by the end of the day or possibly lose it?

Need to change the hardware - its a virtual machine. Cant do it whilst the server is on.

If you are using PaperCut then a restart will keep the paused jobs.

If you are using an old version then on a restart your clients will be reprompted about any shared accounts for their held jobs. This info is retained on a reboot in newer versions of PaperCut.
