techy32 Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Our SCCM is broken and spent hours and hours to fix it with no luck. Now my choice is to install new version of SCCM. My question is 1. SQL for SCCM was installed on different server ( I would like to install SQL server with new SCCM on the same server) 2. Anything needs to change on SCCM / DHCP / SQL / PXE ? Any other advise...... Thanks....
ReadTheNetwork Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 What seems to be the issue with SCCM? I don't think there's much you'll need to do to recreate the SCCM install. I think it does all the DHCP and PXE stuff automatically when you install a new version. 1

Off the top of head (if you haven't already tried these): * check smspxe log on server for errors * redistribute the boot images to your DP * make sure that unknown computer support in enabled on the DP and that there is a TS deployed to unknown computer group * disable pxe support on DP, wait for WDS to uninstall, reboot, enable pxe support on DP, wait for WDS to install, reboot. Try again. Sorry if you have tried all that, just be a shame to go through a new install when this should be fixable. [emoji3] 1

This would probably resolve your problem, I've just added some more steps which I have used previously. untick the enable PXE checkbox on the distribution point. Answer yes that you want to remove the Windows Deployment service. remove your boot images from your distribution point After 5 minutes. Delete %windir%\temp check with server manager if you can add/remove roles on the server. If WDS is done uninstalling there is a pending boot.Reboot!!! check if the remoteinstall folder is located on your system. If it is delete it. reboot Add the PXE point again by checking the box on the distribution point properties. Check the distrmgr.log and see if the remoteinstall folder reappers..
