@gshaw refurb is a much better bet - £250 with SSD drives for something like Dell E6430/5430 and they're bombproof.

 

We've been dealing with budget cuts like England are now getting for the last 10 years in Wales - Refurb Dell is the way forward (and chromebooks).

Yes we have had some issues with them, but not on a mass as you describing above. I have to say Lenovo's standard onsite support is slow and very poor.

 

One thing that is worth noting is that there is a reset button on these that can be pushed with a paperclip, anyone ruled out their users using that to reset date/time?

Mine is a primary school, the date was set forward by a few decades or more, whatever the bios limit was.

 

Can confirm that it was not a reset button issue as even ones I had in my room started to experience the issue.

They may have been hiding behind that as the official line but when the date goes wrong at boot time well before even booting an OS it's a BIOS level bug imo. Reset button "aka Novo button" doesn't do much aside from being easier to access the boot menu.
