Anyone getting sites in Chrome reporting that no Flash is installed ?

Hi all,

 

Getting users reporting that sites visited in Chrome are saying no Flash is installed... it is: v25.0.0.171.

 

 

Chrome: 'Settings/Advanced settings/Content settings/Flash --> Allow sites to run flash' ...seems to solve it.

 

 

The 'Ask first before allowing sites to run Flash' option is enabled by default but not prompting, and never prompted before anyway.

 

Chrome 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit).

 

 

Anyone else experiencing this ?

There's some tweaks in the Chrome GPOs you can amend to stop this happening.

though hopefully browsers dropping it (finally) will get sites to redo things in html5 and flash can be taken out back and shot never to be thought about again

Something to bear in mind - Chrome 57 onwards simply doesn't include Flash at all - they removed the plugin.

 

You have to install the PPAPI version of Flash installed.

Yes. Please kill off flash. It stinks and is full of holes.

Aaaah. Just spotted I didn't have the 'Allow all sites to run automatically plugins' GPO enabled for the OU.

Is anyone else wary of enabling the 'Allow all sites to run automatically plugins' GPO? Or am I being nervous for no reason?

yes, but what other option is there?

I'd like to think it is no different then before, they are just really discouraging flash use.

There should not be any plugins there but what you install anyway.

Since the start of term I also have to white list sites in the admin console that I want to allow flash.

very annoying, needed to add 3 so far.
