Is there a quicker way to edit GPO's?

I there a way to jump directly to a setting in an already created Group Policy Object?

 

Currently, I just open Group Policy Management Editor and drill down through all the folders till I get where I want and make the change

 

Ideally I would like to jump straight from the Group Policy Management settings tab, as that's where you can see all the settings currently applied to that GPO.

 

Anyone have any tips?

I've always assumed that it wouldn't be possible. The 'Settings' tab just looks like the output from RSOP, so you're just looking at the output of a report run against the GPO, rather than a view of the GPO itself.

Don't think Advanced Group Policy Management provides that either, but never used it, with's with Software Assurance

But there is still some parity between the folder structure they could utilise, isnt there?

MS don't care about GPOs any more, they want to sell you monthly per user access to InTune

Not the answer but may help slightly. I use the filter option and set it to only show configured settings if I'm having trouble finding one that I know is configured.

 

RE: AGPM, I set it up about a year ago. it adds change control to the GPOs. Each time you check in / out a GPO you can leave a comment. You can click on history and see a list of changes based on comments, roll back to a previous version or compare versions.

 

I'm the only one here so don't use the rest of it, but you can have levels of access. A tech could edit the GPO then have the NM approve the changes.

Sadly the Settings tab is basically an XML viewer, nothing more. It would be nice if you could double click on a setting and it would open it - I'd imagine that's not a wildly ambitious bit of programming!
