PCEdutechltd Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 HI all, I have a special school (secondary) that is moving from Integris G2 to SIMS based on a demo, but when they have looked at assessment, its going to be a nightmare to use on a day to day basis for this module. Is anyone aware of any software available that can handle P-Scales, Levels and Pivot which is totally customisable. Also needs to be able to feed into SIMS. Thanks in advance
Banjo Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 You can create aspects in sims that can collect P scales and subsets of P scales ie P3ii etc as well the old fashion levels 1c or 1c+ - these just need to be created once in a gradeset and you can add a points value (optional) against each grade so the marksheet can do some 'maths' in the background. Not used Pivots before. In our LA most special schools use B2 - and pull students names out of SIMS.
PCEdutechltd Posted May 22, 2017 Author Posted May 22, 2017 Thanks very much, I'll suggest the school have a look at B2. The school have had a demo from a very reputable SIMS support provider, but the end result was that its not going to work for them. I believe the issue is that its not customisable enough.
PhilNeal Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 I'd be surprised if Assessment Manager isn't customisable enough - it might take a lot of effort to set it up in the first place.
Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Our special schools used to use CASPA but have now developed their own trackers in SIMS. You'd be better off asking other special schools who use SIMS to share a copy of their resources and work with your school to develop them further.

Collect the assessments in B2 and then graph them and benchmark (National captured data) in Caspa (from memory)
