bze2007 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Hi Everyone Was wondering how you techies have your home networks setup, i used to have servers, firewall, switches etc but down now to a laptop and broadband haha
NB9457 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Just standard Sky WiFi. Have a my PC wired and has enough power to mess about VMs if I want to check something out, but I don't really want to fully bring my work home haha.
computer_expert Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) There was a thread on this exact subject not too long ago with details of a few setups/home datacentres - http://www.edugeek.net/forums/learning-network-manager/182356-interesting-home-personal-network-setups.html For me it's just a NAS and the usual router & desktops so nothing special... ass17 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I use Sophos UTM as a VM on an Intel NUC. All the network is VLAN'd so main wifi, guest wifi, lan network are all isolated, access all controlled by Sophos UTM. Even the internet modem is on its own VLAN to stop direct access to the internet. No datacenter, everything on the cloud mirrored between onedrive and google drive.
