Does anyone else under LGfL use Spiceworks, I was contibuting and learning from their forums and had just started using the Helpdesk that they provide, only to find that yesterday morning the site is unreachable. I don't actually get the LGfL "roadblock" page otherwise I could request that it be unblocked. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks in advance.

The only insight I can give you is the Site and Helpdesk work perfectly fine for me, so at least you know that it's something on your end and not theirs.

Have you tried any solutions so far?

EDIT: Although thinking about it, it could be a fault that they're unaware about, you could always contact LGfL to see if there is a problem.

Hi, I have spiceworks working fine in a number of sites so you should be ok, you’re a bit unclear tho are you trying to get to their community web site on the internet or expose your copy to the internet ?

I host the Helpdesk locally on my machine, but I'm unable to reach any of their sites, primarily the communiy.spiceworks.com page, from where I could normally access the Helpdesk, as far as I know our local firewall has not changed. I shall have to check with our service providers to see whether they may have installed any new security software or extra filters. Thanks all for your contributions.

the helpdesk is hosted locally and would be accessed via the host machines address.. If you cannot access this maybe it is a problem with the local spiceworks install i.e. the spiceworks service has crashed on the host machine?

Try restarting the spiceworks desktop application

Thanks Sean, it was however the entire spiceworks site which was inaccessible, not just the helpdesk. It seems that some changes wre made to the proxy server and this may have caused the issue, I am pleased to report that it is now once again working fine.
