Tiny All In One - Anyone using them

Hi All

 

I'm gearing up for the new financial year and want to refresh the ICT suite. I've had some info about Lenovo Tiny M700 All In One units, just wondering if anyone has any exposure or using these. Are they any good?

Phew, got me worried then. I started panicking that an old, crap IT manufacturer had come back to haunt us all.

We looked at them and went for the lenovo Thinkcentre 23 and thinkvision monitor - the computer slots into the back of the monitor.

We have had them coming up 2 years and are pretty happy now. We did have a huge issue at the beginning with monitors - took me a YEAR to sort (probably because i had got them through a distributor rather than a reseller and i was left to deal with the issue alone - not my choice BTW. ) We have ended up with three extra computers and monitors though - for our trouble..

 

Nobody else has ever had the same issue as me apparently and tbf they did sort it once the message had got through. I send endless screen shots of what was happening but i think I wasnt believed. If I could have got someone out here to SEE the problem I think it would have been resolved a lot earlier.

 

The ones that worked have worked well. We have had the odd HD go - replacement organised within a day or two.

 

I like them. They are robust and sleek looking.

The M700s are well built - not got the AIO one, but have the other 3 in the range - i5s, 250GB SSDs on the SFF, 120GB on the tiny and normal ones, and haven't had a single one go wrong yet (around 30)

 

But yes, when I saw the title, I was another one thinking that someone had resurrected spawn of satan!

I have also used the M700's installed in the back of touchscreens and found them to be very reliable. Would be more than happy to use them again.

We have several hundred of of the M700 tinys, not got any all in one versions though. Tinys are a great little machines. They are mounted onto the back of both normal and interactive monitors. Some with dual screen, some with triple screen output.

Didn't need monitors everywhere so we bought the mounting bracket for about £20 and re used monitors which are already 22" which saved us a fair bit of money.

 

Had around 2 fail over the course of about 18 months or so but Lenovo engineer was out the next day, replaced SSD no questions asked and all working fine again.

We have got a few of the M700's and they are pretty good, Lenovo support is great and you can't exactly argue with the pricing, you can mount them pretty much anywhere as well - I found out about them through a company called Very PC and they were good as well so maybe give them a shout and see if they can sort you out a demo or something.

Yup got around 90 Lenovos Tiny's with the All in One Monitor, works great with no issues here. One thing to bear in mind for classroom use is that the VGA port is used by the AIO monitor meaning that you'll need a display port to vga adapter if you want to hook it up to a projector.

I am just about to order 130 of these with the AIO monitors, I am getting all mine with the optional extra HDMI port out to connect to smart touch screens, I an getting the all with this options as the cost difference was only a couple of quid per unit.
