S.M.A.R.T. via LAN?

Hi All,

 

Anyone heard of an app that can monitor S.M.A.R.T. across a network? I’m not finding anything with Google.

 

There are Sourceforge tools (https://sourceforge.net/projects/smartmontools/) that run via the command line, so not sure if a script and some capturing of logs might do the trick.

 

We’ve got some 5 year old SSDs in our oldest desktops, and it would be nice to have a heads up of any impending failures. (One has just failed.) On the assumption we’d get any warning…

Are you using SCCM? I wrote a DCM script a long time ago which notifies you about SMART failures.

How do you implement it in SCCM? Desired Config Management isn't a thing anymore in 2012 R2?

Yes it is. It's under the Assets and Compliance workspace. It's called Compliance rather than DCM but it's the same thing...
