AppBridge: moving to the cloud made easy

 

Migrating to the cloud can be complex. It's not just your files that need to be moved; permissions also need to map correctly; content likely needs to be reorganized, and some data probably needs to be archived. To address that challenge, today we are announcing the acquisition of AppBridge, an enterprise-grade, G Suite migration tool that helps organizations seamlessly migrate from their on-prem, cloud-based and hybrid solutions to Google Drive.

 

With AppBridge, your organization can migrate files effortlessly to G Suite from your existing file servers or content management systems like SharePoint, or from many other cloud platforms you might be using. File permissions are also brought over when you migrate, which means your team's file access remains unchanged and your data stays safe. We’re working together with AppBridge to bring them into the G Suite team. Stay tuned for more information in the near future.

I need to migrate all my users data from our file servers into their drive accounts in bulk. I am hoping this gets made available to us this summer!

Sorry to jump onto an old thread again. Does anyone know if there's a cost attached to Appbridge or if it's going to be a free thing now that Google have bought them out? I'll contact sales to find out if no one has the answers.

AppBridge is now called G Suite Migrate. Unfortunately you can't sign up to the beta if you have G Suite for Education.

G Suite Migrate is a new first-party product to help admins assess and plan migration projects, and confidently migrate large amounts of valuable content directly into G Suite. Initially launching in beta, G Suite Migrate is built on the technology from Google Cloud’s acquisition of AppBridge in 2017.

We’ve been previewing G Suite Migrate with a set of partners and customers. We’re excited to extend this capability to more customers through our beta program for production migrations. G Suite Business, G Suite Enterprise, G Suite Enterprise for Education, and Drive Enterprise customers are eligible to register for the G Suite Migrate beta program. Only G Suite admins may apply with their primary domain on behalf of their organizations.

I could be wrong, but it looks like the only way to get it for education will be to buy G Suite Enterprise for Education licenses.
