fiza Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Now available for GSFE. Good news https://www.blog.google/products/g-suite/powering-enterprise-productivity-and-secure-collaboration-major-updates-g-suite/ 1
Primus Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Indeed, though a few backup companies might be looking a bit nervous now!
PR-UK Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I assume this still has the massive failing that when we delete leavers accounts their Vault data is also purged?
chinesewhispers Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Why would you delete users? Simply suspend them, you're not paying a licence for them.
fiza Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 I assume this still has the massive failing that when we delete leavers accounts their Vault data is also purged? We always suspend leavers.
PR-UK Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I don't want potentially thousands of suspended accounts sat in an OU. It also causes a load of hassle when a suspended account just happens to have had the same name as a new starter, we have this issue almost every year and that's just with 200+ suspended accounts, so I'd then have to look at renaming leavers accounts to prevent the conflicts. It would seem Google don't want people using this option either as outside of GSFE they would charge for suspended accounts. To be fair I believe O365 does this and on-site Exchange retention will delete data once an account is removed, that's why we had to use something else with a journalling account.
mjk Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Why would you delete users? Simply suspend them, you're not paying a licence for them. Why would you suspend them? Move them to a different Domain and give them an account for life.
