tj2419 Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Does anyone have any staff salary sacrifice schemes running where they can buy ICT equipment via their wage for cheaper than would cost in a shop? If so: Does it save your school much money in contributions to National Insurance tax etc? Do they really handle everything? Or did it increase work for your staff e.g. finance/admin team? Would you recommend the schemes? Any particular company? Thanks
HBPS Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 BT have offered this to me recently also for parents not really something that I'm interested in pushing at the moment though
Joanne Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 I've tried to set it up, but because we are paid by county, I have to get them to set it up... so it hasn't happened. I'd love to buy me a shiny new MBP on salary sacrifice!
mtillbrook Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Be careful with this, its all about to change Salary sacrifice perk faces government crackdown | This is Money 1
hardtailstar Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Our school does not but our county council has a rewards and cashback scheme.
Oaktech Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 We've been told categorically that we cannot supply equipment to staff under any circumstances as it either breaches the council's regs on perks, or it breaches the regs on VAT depending on who buys the equipment in the first place. The best deal we've had was a local company who would basically allow any public sector employee to have up to £600 or £1000 dependent on pay grade, credit on any Dell or HP system paid back over 2 years at 1% apr. They pushed that to schools and the council and the NHS. The NHS got on board and offered a post tax salary sacrifice that met financial regs, but the council won't do it. The deal wasn't quite as good as some people hoped as they put about 20% on the supply cost of the system as well as the 1% on the finance!
fiza Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 @tj2419 you obviously haven't got anywhere with this as you asked the same back in 2013. Our school have just signed up with a company just before the deadline for Apple kit.
