A fig roll isn't a biscuit! Neither is a jaffa cake! What on earth is wrong with people?!

how long have you got?

wtf is a cafe noir and why isnt say a real biscuit there instead

With all this Jaffa Cake nonsense going on, next thing people will be telling me that my favourite, Shortbread, is a bread and not a biscuit.

Favourite - Shortbread

Best dunkable - Ginger nut in tea, weirdly Rich Tea in Coffee

Not dunkable - Shortbread - best enjoyed as it is.

Well... it is pre-buttered. ;)

Jaffa cake argument aside, I'm not entirely sure that Wagon Wheels and Fig Rolls count as biscuits either.

Of course they're biscuits. They just have fillings. You'd not argue a bourbon biscuit isn't a biscuit, but there's little difference...

There's a lot of difference!

Wagon wheels have a biscuit component, but that doesn't make them a biscuit. A cheesecake isn't a biscuit. I'm not sure what I would classify it as beyond 'confectionery' but biscuit just feels wrong.

A fig roll is a type of sweet roll, which get stolen by Butch at your 10th birthday party is also not a biscuit.

done - what sort of person dunks a Jaffa Cake??????

On dunking:

Link 1: Tea dunking test finds Hobnob-style does the perfect job - BBC News

Oat biscuits are best for dunking in your breakfast brew, a study has revealed.

You may think they are taking the biscuit but scientists in Cardiff tested the Hobnob-style, digestive, shortie and rich tea in a biscuit comparative study.

After a two-second dunk, the oat biscuit came out on top, lasting 29 seconds before a soggy splash down.

It smashed its competitors with the rich tea breaking after two seconds.

The shortie was the runner-up, lasting an average of 17.5 seconds, and the digestive took bronze remaining intact for about 8.5 seconds.

Despite this, scientists found digestives retained more of their crunch than the other morning treats and sped up how quickly a tea cools to a drinkable temperature of 61C (142F).

Hobnobs are just better in every way

clearly not the chocolate ones - dunking chocolate biscuits is the mark of the devil!!!

(although I did go to University with a bloke who dunked Mars bars in his tea when we went for a tea break - and he has been a vicar for many years

In fact several people I went to university with moved onto be vicars in spite of the uni not doing god stuff

wonder if that says anything about me???

(e.g. me telling a story and them thinking "Please God make him shut up" - before someone else says so!!!)
