So, I had a moment over the past few days and went and purchase a brand new rig (quite quickly so open for criticism) :-) and I also appreciate the TI is out soon before anyone says that; but here is the rig I have https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/3WrPcc and so was looking for some feedback but furthermore interested to see which EduGeek Folks want to maybe reach out and i'll look at what's occurring and get some games and connect with the community here. 3s-gtech Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Wooo, you're looking at top whack on the i7-7700k and 1080 there - both of these parts are due a fall because of Ryzen and Ti. The selection is good overall I think, but needs the proce hammering down a touch! I like the other selections - RAM, SSDs, monitors - but a 1080 has to to really stretch to run 4k well on the latest stuff so bear it in mind.

Yeah I was aware that I was paying the full price for this stuff but that doesn't really bother me I have little patience when comes to buying stuff online :-) IN respect to the 4k yeah my buddy also purchase a machine recently and we found it pretty awesome actually on those monitors even on ultra. He just purchase a Acer Predator X34 UltraWide. James.

Yeah just got to see how it goes no reason why can't go and upgrade in a few months ;-) in terms of VR I have not thought about that to be honest don't really have the room. Arthur Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 (edited) The Samsung PM961 PCIe NVMe SSD is an OEM drive which means it's not possible to download firmware updates or make use of Samsung's NVMe driver which is better than the one Microsoft includes with Windows 10. I would swap it for a Samsung 960 EVO. It's faster, only about a tenner more expensive, uses less power and has a longer warranty (3 vs 2 years). Edited March 4, 2017 by Arthur
