Windows 10 1607 (Anniversary Edition) - Logon Screen Wallpaper

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Prior to Windows 10 1607 I had a GPO that replaced the winlogonui.pri file allowing me to have a customised Log on screen.

I have now upgraded to Windows 10 Anniversary and I know this method no longer works but cannot find one that does.

Has anybody successfully changed the logon screen background in Windows 10 1607? if so, how did you do it?

Thank you in advance!

The new login screen background is the 'lock screen'

Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization.

Also worth noting you can't change the 'blue' colour unless you change the themes inside windows.

This also only works on the anniversary update as previous versions of W10 force you to have the 'Hero image'

Does anybody know if this still works when you disable the lock screen and enforce do not require Ctrl, Alt, Del ??

Hi there,

I've disabled lock screen and ctrl, alt, delete and it all works perfectly.
