You've broken your licence somehow...

For 32bit OS:

Delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing

For 64-bit OS:

Delete

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing

and

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MSLicensing

I've done the above but can only run mstsc.exe with elevated privileges. Is there something else wrong perhaps?

When I do get on to the remote desktops they indicate issues with RD Licensing Manager.... but I can't see what I need to do next.

probably there is something else wrong...

Can you screenshot what you're seeing that suggests a licence manager issue?

Ok, it looks like your licence server has either been de authorized by microsoft or by an update. Happens sometimes.

On the right of that box is a 'start rd license manager' link hit that.

when the licence manager comes up, have a shufty and see if the server is listed. If it is, right click on it, go to advanced and reauthorize - see what happens.

if it isn't listed, right click all servers, click connect and stick in the fqdn of the server, click connect and see if you get anything. If you still get nothing then you probably need to remove the licensing role and re-add it, then using your EES/OVS details re add the licences to it once it has appeared in the licensing servers list. Hopefully it won't be that difficult!
