OITOllie Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Try this: go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16 (can stay logged on as teacher I think) right click powerpnt.exe – troubleshoot compatibility – troubleshoot program – the program opens but does not display correctly – program does not display correctly when large scale fonts are selected You have to click test the program and open a blank powerpoint – close powerpoint – click yes save these settings – shows generating report for quite a while but will save eventually and then it will work. Thanks for the reply I will give that a whirl!
maark Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 When we had that problem it was caused by an office update but we couldn't work out which particular one caused it. If you removed office and reinstalled so it had no updates it worked. Soon as updates went on it came back. The solution worked for us - is worth a try.
turnerr12 Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 We had the exact same problem. Logged a call with MS in the end and they said the try the following which worked compltely for us: Right click the PowerPnt.exe file and click Troublshoot Compatibility then Troubleshoot Program. Check "The program opens but does not display correctly". On next page check "Program does not display correctly when large scale fonts are selected". Test the program. If it works then click "Yes, save these settings for this program". I don't know what it changes in the background but it definitely worked on our screens.
mikeprice Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Hmm - fine if it works - but annoying that it probably changed a setting in Powerpoint that would be easy to keep an eye on if only we knew what it was I always feel uneasy when some automated thingy looks at loads of stuff then says "fixed it" - I want to know what it changed so I can work out what caused it and know what to check for next time - and maybe be able to stop it happening again still - as long as it works it'll do I suppose
