Does anyone know of, or have experience of, any Desktop Alert notification software.

email is all well and good but if i need to send an urgent notification for uses to see, such as an internet outage or email outage I want to be able to push out urgent message.

Something which will either show in the system tray as a popup until they click off it, or a box which pops up in the middle of the screen.

The messenger service was removed since XP, so just wondered what people use now .

Needs to work with windows 7 and windows 10 64 bit ideally.

thanks.

We use Net support notify which we are really happy with!

It is more reliable and stable than their main product that I keep reading about?!

Can you PM me rough costings?

thanks.

I have had no problems at all with it. Been using it for over a year now.

We paid £175 for 150 licenses. You can install the tool to send messages on as many computers as you want.

£35 a year for maintenance cost and upgrades!

We use Impero to do this. I have scheduled a message every Tuesday afternoon to remind staff to take their registers, as the afternoon day pattern is different then.

How are the licenses calculated - is it on the number on client computers you want to receive alerts on?

Hi ITGURU,

I think you maybe confusing NetSupport with another solution, our products are very reliable and stable!

With regards to NetSupport Notify, it sounds like it meets your requirements, it is a low cost solution that allows designated staff to send messages with various options such as severity, time on screen, whether it can be dismissed by the user etc.

You can also add your own school branding and the solution records read messages meaning that you can check who acknowledged what was sent.

The system also provides redundancy so if the main server goes down a secondary one can be used to ensure messages can still be delivered

Take a look at http://www.netsupportnotify.com (you can download a free trial)

I will ask Tom or Sam to PM you with regards to price.

We've been running NetSupport notify for some time, not had any problems with it. Also running DNA, again, we've not had any problems with it at all. Rock solid product backed by a team who listen to feedback and feature requests

+1 for Impero, does exactly what you're looking for, and loads more...

As you have probably seen, there are a few solutions available. Impero and NetSupport DNA both provide methods as part of their suite of tools that deliver simple pop-up alerts etc.

We do alos offer a really low cost solution, NetSupport Notify, that was developed sepcificly for desktop alerting, which you can send from either PC or Mobile and allows you to brand and customise the look and feel of the alerts, include custom sounds and display full screen on information panels.

You can read about it here NetSupport Notify - Multi platform alerting solution or below is a brief animated video covering the main features.

Price wise, a school of 500 PCs would pay £400 for NetSupport Notify - for a permanent licence.

Like Rich, I am paid to promote a product, but we offer free 30 day trials so may be a good way to go ?

Al.
