Just a heads up as the job advert is being finalised at the moment.

We are advertising for an ICT Technician next week.

The School is St John Fisher & Thomas More Catholic Humanities College in Colne (which is at the end of the M65)

This post is for my assistant and as such will be a typical Technicians role and not a managers role with a techie title.

We currently have about 160 Desktops and 60 ish Laptops. This will be expanding this year with new suites being built and classrooms converted etc etc.

 

Basic Infrastructure

Windows 2003 servers

Exchange

ISA

Smoothwall Corporate Guardian/School Guardian

Debian and Ubuntu servers running a few services

XP on all desktops and laptops

35 IWB and projectors

HP and Xerox Networked Printers

SIMs

 

Most of these things will be taken care of by me but training will be given on all aspects of the schools systems.

 

We are looking for someone with strong hardware trouble shooting skills for workstation equipment and printers as well as a familiarity with modern networks.

 

I am told the pay scale is scale 3 which I believe is £14.9k to £16.3k

 

The environment in school is very good and you will be treated as a valued member of staff. You wont get the problems you hear about at other schools I promise you :)

Supposed to be 2010 but they havent built 2 of the schools yet so I am not overly concerned for a good couple of years yet.

If anyone is interested and has any questions dont hesitate to ring me. I am sure they may be a question or 2 on some aspects of the job description. This is being advertised in the local press starting tommorow. I am just about to upload the timetable now as well.
