SharePoint Reporting

Does anybody know of a way to tell which users have accessed a SharePoint site?

 

Our head of Performing Arts would like to be able to tell which students have accessed what she has posted for them to look at.

I know you can check when a file was last edited and by who, but I am not aware of any auditing of views or page hits.

Dont think its possible. You can find out when they last logged onto the system from running PS scripts against AD to look at last logons but i dont think Sharepoint logs in that much detail.

Will it be the first time the students have visited that site collection? There is a list of users who have been to a site collection for the first time.

Within Office 365 Admin Center, Select Reports > Usage > SharePoint site usage... may help??

 

Or, if you have enabled auditing

 

Office 365 Admin Center > Admin Centers > Security & Compliance > Reports > View reports... you can access and report on virtually everything that has been done within Office 365!

Thank you for the menu paths, this has given me a great start.

 

It doesn't look like we have auditing enabled, is it recommended to do so? How can we do so? Are there are implications of doing so?
