Morning All,

I have Papercut setup with separate virtual queues for grey scale and colour jobs. All works fine with my desktops, however laptops do not! Grey scale jobs from the laptops release fine but colour jobs do not. I checked the logs for the release printer and can see that the grey scale job is printed and colour jobs are cancelled and refunded. Looking at the job attributes, I can see the grey scale jobs are PCL6 and the colour jobs are EMF. Is this a driver issue and how might I go about fixing it?

Many thanks, TomHD

Have you set your virtual queues to be able to forward to the relevant printer and also for the relevant device to pick up from the right queues?

Normally when I do it, I use the same drivers, just default one to mono and one to colour.

@MatthewL, yes. The printing works just fine on desktops so I know there isn't any issue with the virtual queue and the links to the release stations. I did manage to get some laptops printing on the colour queue by removing the queue and reinstalling it but this hasn't worked for all of them :(

@Big_Ted, I have that turned off on Kyocera Virtual and Kyocera Virtual Colour, I cannot on the 2 "redirected" ones as the options are greyed out, Advanced Printing Features are both ticked but greyed out!

Any idea why I am getting the "(redirected 2)" printers for the 2 virtual queues and Office on RHP-SR-01 (redirected 2)?

Hi,

Advanced Printing Features is EMF spooling which is how the color job is getting into the print system from the laptop. The (redirected #) indicates that the printer is a redirected printer in a Remote Desktop connection scenario. Redirected printer settings typically cannot be changed due to the security setting when the redirected printers are added to the Remote Desktop system.

Are the print jobs releasing to shared printer on another server? Are there conversion or watermarks in this configuration on the color printer. These are not supported for EMF spool files.

Thanks

Don't worry about them they are just been pulled through from your PC when you RD to the server.
