milon03 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Hello It would be good to know apart from wireshark is there any other good network traffic monitoring tool that you are using in your environment to find out congested area of your network, wifi performace or possible network loop/dodgy switch ports ect. Thanks Milon
Sagima Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 For traffic monitoring we use cacti and snmp to create a weathermap of the network
pete Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 ^ Similar thing using Observium with optional Smokeping integration. There's also NTopNG (ntop.org) in free and Pro (€149, SNMP integration and better reporting) versions if you want to see what type of traffic is passing through. ntopng – ntop
Elison Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 we use this traffic monitoring tool Information is gathered via SNMP, WMI or agents The program can notify you if problems appear
tech-man Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 https://www.paessler.com/ - PRTG all the way! Great product.
manc_techie Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 +1 for PRTG if you need more sensors than the free version they do great education pricing. Easy enough to configure
