Net Framework 1.1 or 2.0

I have recently set up WSUS in a test enviroment and all seems to be working, I wondered if our PC's , all XP SP2, have Net framework installed or do es it need to be done manually or does WSUS do it?

 

ALso will WSUS pull down Net Framewoork 2.0 or is it a manul ainstall again through a msi?

 

Please advise my little brain again.

WSUS will send 1.1 and 2.0 to clients, if you allow it to, and set it to download and install. Anything that Windows Update website shows, will be avalable off WSUS if you tell it to download it.

.NET Framework 1.1 is required maybe by a few drivers or Sims.NET from memory, but as for .NET Framework 2.0 it's still relatively new. To be honest I'd only deploy either if you specifically require them.

 

.NET Framework 1.1 also needs .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 in addition to a security hotfix installed to patch various holes.
