comedydave Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Woke me up too. Woke me up too, It ws great fun listening to chavs over-exagerate it on Sky News "me house was shaking like paper innit mush", and see the poor (but very attractive) lass presenting try to make sence of it. Not usually much big news like this on her shift surely.
contink Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I was woken by what sounded like one of my storage boxes falling off a shelf in the attic, went upstairs and found nothing... Bit confused, stuck head out of door and could hear neighbours talking... Figured, well it's not a nuke so went back to bed and my fiance, the geography teacher, opened one eye and gave the immortal line It's just an earthquake, now come back to bed I think I just stood there with my jaw hanging open...
MK-2 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I do love the over exaggeration of some people on the news. Things like "it shook my table halfway across the room" etc. You're in Southampton mate, how come I live a lot closer and it didn't 'shake' anything across any room here. People saying their rooms looked like they were made out of jelly; no mate, that's you being drunk, not seismic activity. I now begin to see why Hollywood never sets disaster films in England.
