ITGURU Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I'm intending to update SIMS to the autumn release shortly. I've just gone into SOLUS 3 and noticed that we are not on the latest SOLUS 3 release, I think we are 2 behind. 3.10.73.23 Does anyone know if there are minimum version requirements of SOLUS 3 for deploying the new Autumn release. I can't find anything in the release notes, or should it be Ok with the version we are on?
dapaulio Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 If it were a pre req, It will tell you when you attempt to deploy autumn release by adding it automatically. I performed the 3.11 solus upgrade separately before deploying autumn release. Is there a reason why you wouldn't perform solus update first. Chances are it will probably be OK.

I just probably haven't got the time to deploy both on Monday that's all to wait for SOLUS to be done then SIMS. I'll do the main release first then SOLUS perhaps over the holidays.
dapaulio Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) Backend took Bo more than 30 mins for solus and sims. The agents managed the rest overnight Edited December 17, 2016 by dapaulio
Greg Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Look on Capita's site if you want version support info https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/SIMS-SOLUS3-Support/ SIMS SOLUS3 Support Capita's latest news and information on SIMS SOLUS3 Support 21/11/2016 What versions of SOLUS3 do Capita Support? There has been some debate on the forums regarding the support of SOLUS3. I am pleased to confirm that we will provided ongoing support for SOLUS3 versions 3.10 and 3.11
kennysarmy Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I notice I've got a SOLUS 3.11.56 update waiting alongside the Autumn release. Is it OK to update SOLUS during the school day with users on SIMS.net or does that also need exclusive use? Cheers
dapaulio Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I don't think it does but wouldn't want to bet my life on it. Main reason for thinking that is I performed the update myself whilst accidently leaving myself logged in to sims. It only kicked me out when the sims update started. Like I said don't quote me on it. I would always perform updates at a scheduled time when staff know not to use sims 1
Greg Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 it doesn't need exclusive use. I'd do it after the Autumn release is done and deployed to all Workstations with no issues first 1
matt40k Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I'll do the main release first then SOLUS perhaps over the holidays. Check the release notes first - if S3 includes improvements to deployments then it might be worth doing that first otherwise you won't get the benefits!
MartinT Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 We already have SOLUS 3.11.56.1 agents. Noticed that the FMS updates took an age this morning with big pauses between SQL, Borland and client parts. Slightly unusual, but all done now.
