Talk Straight, Lightspeed Systems Proxy Certificate - ACTION REQUIRED - msi installer

Hi all,

Does anyone have the msi installed for the new Lightspeed certificate that Talk Straight is rolling out?

 

Previously, after some asking, we was supplied a 32 and 64 bit msi that allowed us to roll out the Lightspeed certificate via a GPO. This time the download link points to a lsproxy.der file. I dont fancy visiting 140+ computers just to replace the certifcate !!

You shouldn't need to use an MSI, or visit each machine. You can deploy a certificate as a trusted root via GPO - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc770315(v=ws.10).aspx

Same, no need to MSI that... is just creating work for yourself. If you have a GPO for lightspeed's client deployment, it makes sense to put it in there.

Even though this is a DER file, does it make a difference?

The .der file has imported into the GPOs of two of the sites I support and all seems ok - guess we wont fully know until the new year.

 

We just modified our internet GPO, fairly straight forward.

Ive got the old self signed one and the new one deployed without issue at the moment, and after the 20th I will remove the self signed one as per SBB instructions.
