Pretty much what the title says, is IMDb safe for school year's 10 and 11?

Media have asked us to unblock it in order for the students to watch trailers however we've had it blocked from day 1 for 2 reasons.

1. Kids will spend any lesson on a PC watching trailers off IMDb (we know this because when we tested access with sixth form that's all they did)

2. Age ratings on films.

Curious to hear if anyone else allows or blocks this and any general views.

Thanks.

They also list "adult" movies and stars plus their forums are unmoderated and as a consequence some boards are pretty bad. I only tend to bother with the Game of thrones board when the show is on. At other times it's full of teenage boys trash talking.

Can't they watch trailers on Apple?*

*I need a shower for suggesting this.

From a technical point I couldn't give a poop but it's the political should they be able to watch adult film trailers etc...

Had a look on Apple and I couldn't find any "Red Band" trailers (only tried a couple of likely titles though) so while the films may be certified for older audiences the trailers will be for general audiences.

I imagine most of the trailers on IMDB are hosted elsewhere, rottentomatoes, apple itunes, youtube etc - so it's not just IMDB you will need to whitelist.

Having done some research and gone through Apple Trailers with a fine tooth comb I can conclude they are the better website.

All videos are held central and while they are showing what appears to be only green band trailers for R rated movies or unrated trailers it would appear someone at Apple is vetting these as they are not showing explicit's compared to those that can be seen on IMDB or Youtube.

Conclusion - Apple Trailers is our friend here.
