I have a computer on the work-group and it is trying to access a shared network drive, where the documents, shares, desktop etc are but it's not finding the server when I type in \\SERVER it's only coming up when I type in it's IP Address.

I've been trying to fix it, given it a Static IP Address both on the DHCP Server and on the laptop it'self. The laptop in question has internet access. I did a netsh reset the other day to solve the issue on another computer. It seems to be happening on and off for quite a few laptops and workstations.

I've not changed the firewall settings for a few weeks, so I don't think it would be that.

Probably too late now but wondering if using the FQDN and not just the host name would have found it. Has issues like this before when the default search suffix wasn't working properly and a restart would fix it.
