Inventory system with Bar Code scanner...

Hello,

 

I wonder if anyone can suggest an inventory system with a bar code scanner that actually works properly.

 

The idea is to be able to scan in bar codes from new hardware deliveries straight into the inventory database; therefore removing the need for a manual input.

 

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

I've heard good things about WASP, don't have the money for it here but demo's I've seen have been impressive and they have a smartphone app to scan stuff into or out of inventory using your phone if you need to.

 

Here I use an Excel spreadsheet and a hand held barcode scanner

Thank you for your suggestion. Will have a look at WASP.

 

In the meantime, I might also try setting up a hand held scanner with Excel.

We use an online system call Parago. Its OK. Not great. Just OK.

We use Tracmor, open source and very flexible. Previously had a WASP system that was crazy expensive and very inflexible. We bought asset labels and a Bluetooth barcode scanner from Amazon for £30. We have over 3000 assets in our system now...
