This is continuing Microsoft's "don't pay us once for Windows Server, pay us monthly per user" scheme.

 

As you have no server you have no WDS etc to image machines, so you just wipe them and configure via cloud (after paying per month per device MDM fees)

 

Bet you can't set Chrome as the default browser, wonder if the EU know.

 

You can only save to "the cloud", I wonder which clouds they support...

 

Weirdly they say they enabled the GPO option "Turn off Microsoft consumer experiences", which they disabled for Windows 10 Pro in 1607

The whole IE EU thing has expired @mavhc. Chrome has a big enough share of the market that they're not going to renew it. That's why they've been OEM bundling Windows 10 with Bing for a while now

 

Windows 7 is 7 years old. It's pretty dated nowadays and really should be replace (yes, yes I know, I know. But we had the same thing with XP didn't we and the world didn't end did it?)

Apparently they didn't learn their lesson. Windows 10 now has ads saying "Edge is safer than Chrome/Firefox". It's apparently "impossible" to allow you to switch search engines away from Bing in various parts of Windows 10.

You can change the search engine in Edge but you can't push it out with group policy.

It would be nice if the app had a few more options other than the Wi-Fi. Being able to set the home page would be one.

We've set a default homepage in Edge using Group Policy. Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Microsoft Edge > Configure corporate Home pages. Or do you mean through this new method?
