We use Papercut here and it is run on logon to copy the file locally and run the client from there. It runs and has been running for years with no problems on Windows 7 but it just keeps closing itself on Windows 10 machines and staff are having to log off and on in order to print.

Has anyone else experienced this or know of any reason why it would happen?

Thanks.

What version of papercut are you on? Did you update so the Windows 10 support is added? We are on version 16.3 (MF) and its perfectly fine.

Does it do it everytime? A way around the relogging is we put a .bat file on there desktop which reruns it. Which runs this :

cmd /c "start \\SERVERNAME\PCClient\win\pc-client-local-cache.exe --neverrequestidentity --windowtitle Print-Balance"

noprinting

Not every time no, but enough times to be annoying. I have given them something similar but they still moan and don't want to do it!

Not sure which version, I'll have to check but I know it hasn't been updated in a while.

Its probably this that is your issue.

I know this is an old thread but if you are having this issue i have created a script that will check for the papercut client running and restart it if not.
