I can't say I'm surpised, samrt watches always struck me as a 'buy once' device. Once you have one would you want to get another any time soon?

That and limited battery life and restricted features still have me keeping away from them.

I can't say I'm surprised, smart watches always struck me as a 'buy once' device. Once you have one would you want to get another any time soon?

That and limited battery life and restricted features still have me keeping away from them.

 

I'm not surprised either really, certainly for the price of a lot of the better ones... Watches aren't something people replace regularly like other gadgets...

 

I still love mine though, had it about 10 months now and I miss it when I wear one of my other watches... When I take it off in the evening I usually still have about 65% battery remaining, but usually charge it every night anyway... It's not something I'd look to replace as often as I replace my phone, but would definitely look at replacing it with another smartwatch when this one starts showing signs of getting slow/poor battery etc...

I'm considering getting a new strap for mine soon, but also looking at getting another fancier smart watch. Although this does everything I need it to really. Step tracking, voice control in the car, linked to spotify so I can skip tracks whenever I like and most importantly, showing me what time it is.

I think this was always going to be the case wasn't it?

 

I love my apple watch, but i feel even less need to upgrade it than I feel the need to get a new iPad to replace my Air Gen 1.

 

Watches and tablets are things with a much longer lifespan in the consumer's mind I'd say.

 

I would certainly expect my watch to last for 3 maybe 4 years.

I've had mine 2 years ish, had a pebble now have a moto 360. I wouldnt say they are a gimmick.

 

I feel naked now when i don't ware it, if i get an email without my watch on this occurs -> WHAT DO YOU MEAN? I HAVE TO TAKE MY PHONE... OUT OF MY POCKET!! WHAT IS THIS 2012?

Definitely not a gimmick. Used properly they are excellent. Great for quick replies to messages and emails without reaching for the phone or stopping what you're doing. Great to see what my day has been like activity-wise. It's really useful when you get a Reminder tap you on the wrist to let you know you should be in a meeting.

It's a watch that makes sure I'm not looking at my phone so often. And that's a good thing

 

There is still more work required to realise the potential though.
